ADDICTED started in 2009 with men’s swimwear, in a city where a swim after work is a perfectly normal plan. Underwear, sportswear, casual clothes and partywear followed, and the colour never got any quieter.

THE BRAND

A swimwear label that grew into a wardrobe

Behind ADDICTED are Eduardo Suñer and Joan Busquets, who had launched ES Collection three years earlier, and here too the first pieces were swimwear. In summer the city beaches turn into a second living room, and Mar Bella in Poblenou is the one gay Barcelona calls its own.

What has stayed is the attitude: strong colour, a waistband you are happy to show above your jeans, and cuts that follow the body instead of hiding it. In the first season of Drag Race España, the prize for one mini challenge was a pack of ADDICTED underwear and swimwear, which says a lot about where the brand feels at home.

THE RANGE

From the lake to the dance floor

A good summer day in Berlin can start with a swim at Wannsee, carry on through a long afternoon at work and end on a rooftop or a dance floor. One outfit rarely covers all of it, and ADDICTED has something for each part of the day.

Underwear

The first thing on in the morning and the last thing off at night. ADDICTED makes briefs, trunks and jockstraps for every mood, from an ordinary Tuesday to a Saturday that never seems to end.

Swimwear

This is where the story began. Low swim briefs for the sunbathers and looser shorts for anyone who would rather play beach volleyball than pose, as much at home on the Baltic coast as in Sitges.

Sport

Training tanks and shorts that rarely stay in the gym. More often than not, they end up at brunch.

Casual

Shirts, knitwear, denim and accessories for the rest of the week: a gallery opening in Kreuzberg, dinner with friends or a night that was only meant to be one drink.

CONSTRUCTION

The quiet engineering up front

Not everyone wants the same thing from a pair of briefs, and that is fine. Pack Up works with a removable insert, Push Up gives elastic support from inside, and Molded shapes the fabric without a centre seam. Which one feels right usually depends on the day ahead.
