Maspalomas in November, from the dunes to Winter Pride
When autumn turns grey in Germany, Maspalomas is still warm enough for long days on the beach. Between the dunes, the Atlantic and the nights in Playa del Inglés, you need very little fabric and plenty of colour. That is what ADDICTED’s Maspalomas swimwear is about.
THE SOUTH
For decades Maspalomas has been one of the places gay men from all over Europe fly to when it gets cold at home. The dunes and the beach by day, the Yumbo Centrum at night, and in between the feeling that nobody here needs anything explained.
Colours that suit the light
The light over the dunes is so bright that grey simply disappears in it. A skimpy swim brief in neon yellow or coral is no big statement here. It just puts you in a good mood.
The walk through the dunes to the sea takes longer than you expect, and every step is worth it. From the top of the ridge you see the ocean for the first time. Below lies the beach around Kiosk 7, where the community has been meeting for years.
A beach day has its own rhythm
A swim in the Atlantic in the morning, shade under the umbrella at midday, back into the water in the afternoon. A print suits that pace, because it doesn’t get boring even after hours in the sand.
A print is also a good way to start a conversation. People get talking quickly on the beach anyway, sometimes about the swimwear, mostly about plans for the evening.
When the sun gets lower
Late in the afternoon the light softens and the beach empties. That is the hour for navy, calmer than neon but not the least bit shy.
Then it’s a shower and, later, the Yumbo. Anyone there in early November will catch Winter Pride Maspalomas, from 2 to 8 November 2026, with free shows on the big stage at the Yumbo and the Pride Walk along Avenida de Tirajana on Saturday 7 November. For the beach days in between, there is ADDICTED swimwear in the shop.
